For my 1st install I did bleach the knots, used a little glue for the lace to stay down, light styling moose and water for the hair itself. 2nd install I just used wig grip spray. What ever your preference you have options with this lovely wig. I would recommend shampooing the wig before using. I ordered this unit in 18 inches and I will be ordering the 24 inches next
